今天我們一同見證了455名同學(xué)人生中的一個重要時刻,我在這里向你們表示熱烈的祝賀! 在百年職校能夠獲得畢業(yè)證書,很不容易,說明你們盡力了,經(jīng)受了各種學(xué)習(xí)、紀(jì)律、生活、實(shí)習(xí)的考驗(yàn),得到了屬于自己的那一份收獲!我們在座的所有人和你們的親人、朋友一樣為你們感到驕傲!這之中的付出只有你們自己懂得。你們的成長和進(jìn)步將銘記在每個人生活歷程中。
Today we are gathered to witness a very special moment for our 455 graduates to whom I extend my warmest congratulations. Successfully completing our training program and graduating from BNVS is an arduous challenge. I know you have all done your best and gained much from the experience of fulfilling the academic and disciplinary standards required and meeting all the tests regarding your daily life and internships. Together with all your friends and family we proudly celebrate this significant achievement, while acknowledging the considerable effort you invested in the process. As you go out into the world, know that you will carry with you all that you have gained and learned throughout your time at BNVS.
在此時刻,我們不僅共同驕傲,也有同樣的期待,那就是都要勇敢面對未來社會的挑戰(zhàn)。沒有人能夠替我們預(yù)測未來,每個人的未來生活之路,只能依靠自己前行。而此時,親愛的同學(xué)們,我只想說,當(dāng)你未來生活中遇到困難和迷茫的時候,想想剛來學(xué)校流過想家的眼淚,還有不會做作業(yè)的無奈,實(shí)操中的失誤,每天打掃衛(wèi)生的繁瑣,學(xué)校諸多不近人情的規(guī)定讓生活難熬,連用手機(jī)都要管!想想實(shí)習(xí)時挨批評的委屈,還有不能談戀愛的煩惱,等等,我知道有些同學(xué)多少次想離開想放棄,可是你們堅(jiān)持了下來,沒有放棄。也許這些經(jīng)歷能讓你找到感覺,因?yàn)槟阍?jīng)克服的所有困難都會變成你未來堅(jiān)守的力量。
At this moment, we want to share with you our pride in your accomplishments, and our confidence in your ability to bravely face any challenges that the future may hold for you. No one can predict the future. Everyone needs to explore his own path. Dear students, when you encounter obstacles and feel confused in your life, I hope you will remember the tears you shed when you first came to BNVS and longed for home, the frustrations you had confronting difficult homework assignments, the discomfort and embarrassment experienced when you made mistakes during your internships, the monotony of daily cleaning routines, and the harsh bite of rigorous school discipline (where even the use of cell phones was forbidden). Think too about the grievances you felt when you were reprimanded as an intern, or when you were forbidden from having romantic relationships by the school. During these times, I know many of you considered giving up and quitting, but instead, you held on and made it through the tough times. I hope that such experiences will provide you with the knowledge and power to overcome any new challenges you may confront in the future.
像以往一樣,很多畢業(yè)生校友都回到了學(xué)校為師弟師妹祝福,看到他們的成熟,讓我們深感欣慰。我看到大家都熟悉的王林和他的母親,十年前王林他*的眼淚讓我們堅(jiān)定了辦學(xué)的信念,今天王林和他*的快樂帶給我們收獲的喜悅。
As a tradition, many alumni of our school come back today to congratulate their fellow schoolmates on their graduation. We are deeply gladdened to see their growth. I see Mr. Wang Lin and his mother. Ten years ago, it was Lin’s mother’s tears that consolidated our faith to start and run this school. Today, Lin and his mother’s happiness bring us the joy of bountiful returns.
這些年來,很多向王林同學(xué)一樣的年輕人了走進(jìn)百年職校。其實(shí)來到百年職校的每一個同學(xué)都是非常堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的。百年職校有個習(xí)慣,每一位同學(xué)入學(xué)時的第一篇作文,就是“我的故事”。我讀過很多同學(xué)寫的故事,有時會忍不住留下眼淚。有一位江蘇的女同學(xué),因?yàn)楦赣H打工拿不到工資,父母因?yàn)闆]有錢而吵架,母親受不了選擇了離開。父親把生活失敗的憤怒發(fā)泄到女兒身上。從小遭受家庭暴力,這樣的痛苦不敢也無處訴說。還有一位同學(xué)也是江蘇的同學(xué),父親在她是一個月的時候就因病離開了。母親堅(jiān)強(qiáng)地把孩子們帶大,全家的希望放在哥哥身上。為了哥哥結(jié)婚,她選擇了打工拼命掙錢工作,然而災(zāi)難再次降臨。哥哥因事故失去了生命,全家的希望頃刻坍塌。她們來到南京百年職校后,在關(guān)愛中,從悲傷和自卑中找回了原本天真善良的自己。一位同學(xué)說,百年職校讓我重回了校園,又擁有了親情和友情。一位同學(xué)說“風(fēng)雨過后一定有彩虹”。現(xiàn)在她們都在五星級飯店工作,都在利用業(yè)余時間繼續(xù)攻讀大專。
For the past few years, many young people just like Lin have enrolled in and graduated from BNVS. Actually, every student who has come to BNVS is strong minded. It is our school’s tradition that every new entrant should submit a composition entitled “My Story”. Reading them, I have often been reduced to tears. We had a girl student from Jiangsu. Due to recurrent financial problems stemming from her father's not being paid back wages by his employer, the family was impoverished and her parents quarreled frequently. Eventually her mother left and her father vented his anger and she suffered physical abuse at his hands. She suffered in agony but had no one to turn to. We had another student from Jiangsu, whose father died of illness when she was only one month old. Her mother raised the children tenaciously and the entire family depended on her elder brother for their livelihood. She even left school to earn money for her brother to get married. Unfortunately, her brother died of an accident and her family was left in despair. These two girls enrolled in our Nanjing school and were given good care and affection. They gradually emerged from their grief and self-abasement. One of them said BNVS enabled her to return to school as well as regain the affection of family and friends. The other said one can not see the rainbow until she has weathered storms. Now, both of them work at five-star hotels and attend junior college in their spare time.
來自四川棉竹地震災(zāi)區(qū)的傾娟同學(xué),原本內(nèi)向,但是因?yàn)閾?dān)任了學(xué)校的環(huán)境部長和升旗手,學(xué)會了演講,變的自信,在實(shí)習(xí)中多次累病了,可是堅(jiān)持了下來。畢業(yè)后因?yàn)樯眢w原因,家里人勸說曾經(jīng)去了一個比較清閑的工作單位,可是工作起來才發(fā)現(xiàn)她已經(jīng)無法適應(yīng)每天無所事事的清閑。百年職校的教育讓她選擇了更有挑戰(zhàn)性的崗位,在緊張的工作中鍛煉了能力,很快獲得了晉升。
Ms. Qing Juan came from the earthquake stricken Mianzhu area in Sichuan Province. She used to be quite timid, but became much more confident and eloquent after she assumed the responsibility as head of the Environment Division of the Student Council and became a flag raiser. During her internship, she worked so hard that she even fell ill several times, but managed to complete the internship despite her health. After graduation, her family persuaded her to join a company with a light workload. However, after her experience in BNVS, she found herself no longer comfortable idling away the hours. Eventually she moved on to a more challenging job, where her strong working abilities coupled with intense work schedules resulted in promotions.
鄭州劉靜同學(xué)與成都傾娟同學(xué)相似, 改變的契機(jī)也是參加了學(xué)生會選舉。為了做好學(xué)生會工作,她把學(xué)生手冊都背誦下來,一絲不茍地照章辦事。作為環(huán)境部部長,她每天都要檢查同學(xué)們的保潔區(qū)。為此,她總是先把自己的保潔區(qū)做到一塵不染,因此成為學(xué)校標(biāo)兵。同學(xué)們的佩服,老師們的贊譽(yù),給了她自信。實(shí)習(xí)開始,她一直是所在幼兒園個人工作績效第一名的保持者。這期間,劉靜還報(bào)考了河南省教育示范學(xué)院學(xué)前教育專業(yè)函授大專,經(jīng)過三年的學(xué)習(xí),獲得大專畢業(yè)證書。現(xiàn)在她已經(jīng)成為幼兒園的骨干教師。
Similar to Qing Juan, Ms. Liu Jing from Zhengzhou transformed herself after joining the Student Council. To ensure she performed her duties well, she memorized the entire student handbook by heart and lived by its precepts. As head of the environment division, she conducted daily inspections of each student's clean-up areas of responsibility. Before this however, she first made her own cleanup area a spotless example of the standards to be met, and was elected as a role model for such. Admiration from fellow students and teachers boosted her confidence. Ever since she started her internship in a kindergarten, she has maintained the top score in every performance evaluation. Meanwhile, she has enrolled in a correspondence course at Henan Normal College, majoring in pre-school education. Upon completion of the three year program, she was awarded a college degree and is now one of the key teachers in the kindergarten.
五月份我去銀川學(xué)校,看到清真烹飪班的張海龍同學(xué),他告訴我們當(dāng)他滿歡豪情當(dāng)進(jìn)入到實(shí)習(xí)崗位時,才發(fā)現(xiàn)一切原來與想象的不同。 在廚房打雜,每天掃地、洗抹布,當(dāng)時心情很是不好。但他換了一個角度仔細(xì)想想,若是這些小事我都干不好,怎么能當(dāng)好一個令人滿意的廚師呢?這就是百年職校最強(qiáng)調(diào)的人生技能——每天踏踏實(shí)實(shí)做好每一件事。半個月后,他被調(diào)到了荷臺,但是又遇到了新的麻煩,廚房的師傅大部分是廣東人,語言不通,溝通起來十分困難,師傅不愿理睬他。他想到了在學(xué)校里老師指導(dǎo)的溝通技能,每天上班早早來,給師傅泡好茶,把師傅的灶具擺放好,把一切準(zhǔn)備工作都為師傅做好。時間長了,師傅慢慢改變了看法,他趁機(jī)和師傅多交流,說得多了,師傅的話也能聽懂了。直到后來他可以獨(dú)立成一些菜品,得到了師傅的認(rèn)可。他克服了困難,順利完成了實(shí)習(xí)。
This May I went to our Yinchuan campus and met with Mr. Zhang Hailong, a student of our halal cooking class. When he started his internship full of ambition, things turned out to be quite unexpected. He was frustrated by the kitchen chores assigned to him, such as sweeping the floor and washing the dish cloths. But he managed to see things from a different perspective: after all, how can one be trusted as a competent chef if he can not even manage basic kitchen chores? This is exactly what we taught the students in BNVS -- to have a down-to-earth and practical attitude to everyday tasks. Half a month later, he was transferred to the preparation table, but encountered new barriers as he was not able to communicate with the Cantonese-speaking master chefs. Enlightened by the communication skills he had learned in BNVS, he arrived at work early to help prepare for the chefs’ day of work, attending to details such as arranging cooking utensils and making tea. As time passed, the master chefs changed their attitude toward him. He took the chance trying to communicate with the chefs and gradually managed to understand Cantonese. After that he learned to prepare several dishes independently and was approved by the master chefs. Conquering the difficulties, he successfully completed the internship.
三亞的有一個同學(xué)叫劉揚(yáng)垂,來自澄邁縣一個小村莊,當(dāng)家中遇到一次巨大的困難,媽媽想輕生,五個孩子跪著哀求媽媽要堅(jiān)持下去。年幼的劉揚(yáng)垂跟著老鄉(xiāng)去杭州賣菜,想掙點(diǎn)錢接濟(jì)家里生活,但是實(shí)現(xiàn)這個愿望對年輕的劉揚(yáng)垂并不容易!失敗后回到海南家鄉(xiāng), 家里困難依舊一籌莫展。 16歲的他在壓力下變得叛逆,在家里沒有一天消停。劉揚(yáng)垂來到三亞百年職校之初,調(diào)皮和散漫,但是百年職校的生活和學(xué)習(xí)讓他發(fā)生了改變。他說,百年讓我學(xué)會了遵守紀(jì)律,學(xué)會了做人,知道孝敬父母,懂得感恩,還學(xué)會了技能等,更學(xué)會了無論遇到多少困難,都要面對和克服。在學(xué)校每天早上5點(diǎn)多起床,刻苦練習(xí)技術(shù)和操作本領(lǐng),成績出色。畢業(yè)后, 劉揚(yáng)垂在亞龍灣一家五星級酒店就業(yè),很快成長為工程部的技術(shù)骨干,獲技術(shù)能手稱號。伴隨工作能力的提升,劉揚(yáng)垂的收入也不斷提升。他每月寄錢給家中,父母不在為生活困難糾結(jié)。劉揚(yáng)垂還參加過戴爾機(jī)器人比賽,獲得全國總冠軍,獲得了出國比賽的機(jī)會。劉揚(yáng)垂說,在我們家族里沒有一個人出過國,有很多人甚至連島都沒出過,我現(xiàn)在變成了妹妹們心中的榜樣,父母的榮耀,村里人的驕傲。
Mr. Liu Yangchui came from a small village in Chengmai County of Sanya. When he was young, his family was stricken by a major tragedy. His mother, made desperate by the family's circumstances, wanted to take her own life. Her five children fell down on their knees begging their mother not to do it. Yangchui subsequently left with fellow villagers to become a vegetable vendor in Hangzhou -- in the hope of supporting his family. However, it was too daunting a task for a young child and he failed. He returned home frustrated and became a rebellious teenager. When Yangchui was new to our campus in Sanya, he was mischievous and undisciplined. Gradually, life at BNVS changed him. He said that the school not only taught him professional skills, but also taught him to be disciplined and upright, to treat his parents with respect and gratitude, and how to overcome life's challenges and obstacles. Yangchui got up at 5 a.m. everyday, working hard to master professional skills and earning good grades at school. After graduation, Yangchui was employed by a five-star hotel. He soon became a key technician in the engineering department and was awarded “technical expert”. As his working abilities improved, his income increased. He sent money home every month, relieving his parents of their financial burdens. Yangchui also won a national championship in Dell's robotics competition and went on to participate in competitions abroad. Yangchui said that in his extended family not a single person had ever been away from Hainan Island, not to mention to travel abroad. He became a role model for his younger siblings. His parents and the entire village now take great pride in him.
武漢的衛(wèi)明同學(xué)母親身患?xì)埣玻赣H在2010年中秋節(jié)那一天因患癌癥離去了,這樣的打擊對于一個家庭來說實(shí)在無法承受。百年職校破例接收了她們姐妹兩個人。她從學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)中懂得了承擔(dān)責(zé)任和感恩。她畢業(yè)后在酒店前臺工作,經(jīng)常遇到各種不同的客人,但她靠著這種責(zé)任心克服了恐懼,變的成熟,愛上了自己的工作。現(xiàn)在她和妹妹依靠工資不僅還清了父親治病欠下的四萬元債務(wù),還因?yàn)橛挟?dāng)?shù)卣牟糠盅a(bǔ)貼,為家里建了新房。
Ms. Wei Ming attended BNVS Wuhan. Her mother was disabled and her father died of cancer during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2010. His death was a disastrous blow for the family. BNVS made an exception and enrolled both Ming and her sister. From her experience in the school, Ming learned about and gained a strong sense of responsibility and gratitude. After graduation, she worked at the reception desk of a hotel and received a variety of guests. With the sense of responsibility cultivated at BNVS, she overcame her shyness, became mature, and devoted to her job. With their combined salaries, Ming and her sister have managed to pay off the debts accumulated throughout her father's illness. With the help of a local government subsidy, they have also managed to build a new house.
柯星同學(xué)從小失去母親,父親在外打工,是爺爺把她帶大。在學(xué)校她熱愛上茶藝課。湖北是產(chǎn)茶大省,武漢百年職校特別為同學(xué)開發(fā)了茶藝選修課。柯星同學(xué)因此發(fā)現(xiàn)了自己的愛好,工作后繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí),成為高級茶藝師,還當(dāng)上了單位的主管。我看到她寫的文章,非常感動:“雖然離開現(xiàn)在了百年職校,但我更要感謝百年職校教給我們的理念,教育照亮人生,技能立足社會。我們追求成功,但也不懼怕失敗,我們渴望坦途,但不回避坎坷。這就是我們百年職校,一所有靈魂、有精神,不斷進(jìn)取值得尊敬的學(xué)校。”
Ms. Ke Xing lost her mother at a very young age. Her father left home to find work, so she was brought up by her grandfather. At BNVS Wuhan, Xing fell in love with the art of tea making. Hubei is a major tea growing province and BNVS developed elective courses on the art of tea making for the students. Xing discovered her interest and kept on learning after graduation. She is currently a senior tea art master and was promoted to director at her company. I was deeply moved by an article she wrote where she said. “Despite the fact that I have left BNVS, I am very much indebted to what BNVS has taught me. Education enlightens the students’ lives and professional skills enable the students to become financially independent in society. We aspire to success, yet we are not afraid of failure. We look forward to favorable conditions but will face up to any obstacles. Such is our BNVS, a respectable school with noble spirit and entrepreneurship.”
這些故事讓我們看到了職業(yè)教育改變了很多年輕人和很多家庭,也看到了百年職校的教學(xué)特點(diǎn)和對學(xué)生們的具體幫助。每當(dāng)我聽到同學(xué)們開始用自己的工資幫助父母生活,幫助兄弟姐妹交學(xué)費(fèi),用自己的工資繼續(xù)上學(xué),我都由衷地感恩,感恩一切參與和支持的朋友們,感恩同學(xué)們的努力!
These are just a few stories of how vocational education has changed the lives of young people and their families. They also are manifestations of how BNVS's curriculum design and pedagogical approach support our students' development and growth. Every time I hear stories of students helping out their parents and siblings or going to pursue further education using their own hard-earned salaries, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to these students, as well as to all of our friends and partners who have joined us to support our school and students. Thank you all.
幾乎每個百年的畢業(yè)生都有這樣感人的故事,我不能一一列舉。當(dāng)同學(xué)們離開了學(xué)校,可能對學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)和生活會有更真切的感受。 因?yàn)榘倌曷毿#銈兊娜松趦赡甑臅r間內(nèi)發(fā)生巨大的變化,今天有了一份滿意或不太滿意的工作。但面對未來,我們的世界又總在改變,不要指望今天的一份工作和一個崗位可以保證你的未來一生或者決定你的未來一生。唯有堅(jiān)持我們的價(jià)值觀,做一個堅(jiān)守誠信、承擔(dān)責(zé)任、遵紀(jì)守法,勤奮學(xué)習(xí),有愛心寬容待人的人,才能幫助你面對未來的挑戰(zhàn),擁抱這個變化的世界,在變化中獲得持續(xù)的進(jìn)步和成長。我希望百年職校的學(xué)習(xí)能為你帶來這樣的幫助。
Almost each and every graduate of BNVS has a special story like this, but today there is no time for me to detail them all. When you go out into the world of work after your graduation, you might discover you have deep-felt feelings about your experience of studying and living here. Your lives went through enormous changes within these two short years at BNVS. Now, you might have secured a job that you are satisfied with -- or maybe not. Whatever the case, remember that your world is constantly changing and no job today can guarantee or determine your entire future. The only way to face up to life's challenges and to keep up with the changing world is to adhere to the values we taught you here, and to be a person of Integrity, Responsibility, Discipline, Diligence, Love, and Tolerance. I hope your experience in BNVS can help you achieve these in the future.
回顧十年百年辦學(xué)之路,我們是和同學(xué)們一起成長, 與中國的公益事業(yè)一起成長。二十年來希望工程獲得100億捐款,用于支持中國的教育,為成千上萬的貧窮青少年提供了教育機(jī)會。百年職校作為希望工程的職業(yè)教育項(xiàng)目,十年來在各位資助者的共同努力下獲得超過1.7億元的捐款,保證了我們辦學(xué)的物質(zhì)條件。
Looking back on our ten years of running BNVS, we grew together with our students and China's philanthropic sector. Over the past 20 years, the Hope Project has raised over RMB 10 billion in support of advancing China's education, and through this support has provided tens of millions of underprivileged youth access to education. As a vocational education program under the Hope Project, BNVS has received more than RMB 170 million in philanthropic donations from our generous contributors. These donations have guaranteed the material conditions for and sustainability of our school.
百年職校與中國的職業(yè)教育一起成長,今天中國職業(yè)教育與十年前的情況大不相同,得到全社會高度重視。昨天魯昕副部長和葛道凱司長特別來到學(xué)校看望畢業(yè)生,給大家送來鼓勵,也再次傳達(dá)了習(xí)總書記對職業(yè)教育發(fā)展的批示精神,讓我們?yōu)槁殬I(yè)教育大發(fā)展深受鼓舞。
BNVS grew together with China's vocational education sector. Unlike ten years ago, our society now attaches great importance to vocational education. Yesterday, Ms. Lu Xin, Deputy Minister of China's Ministry of Education and Mr. Ge Daokai, Director of the Ministry's Vocational Education Department, visited BNVS to boost the morale of our graduates. They conveyed to us Party General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on the future development of vocational education, through which we were greatly inspired.
更重要的成長來自我們的教師團(tuán)隊(duì)和志愿者團(tuán)隊(duì)。 看了百年十年的回顧片,此時此刻, 我有一個感概,那就是我們也曾經(jīng)很年輕。 十年之后我們都老了,或者說成長了。2005年的夏秋時節(jié),在大方家胡同,從百年職校的策劃,調(diào)研,到實(shí)施,所經(jīng)歷的一切還歷歷在目。我們每天對辦學(xué)方向,課程設(shè)置,教學(xué)方法,培養(yǎng)目標(biāo)的討論包括激烈爭論、第一次的開學(xué)典禮,都如同昨日般的清晰。一個沒有先例的百年職校讓我們一起體會著教育的艱辛, 共同感受著教育的力量。因此讓我們的心永遠(yuǎn)年輕。
BNVS' most significant growth has come through and with our school faculty and volunteers. After watching BNVS' ten year memorial video, I think back to how young we all were back then. Since then, we have aged and matured. I still recall in the late summer of 2005, many of us gathered together in Dafangjia Alley (HuTong) with the goal to start BNVS. We held discussions and conducted research, we argued ardently over the goal, teaching methods and curriculum to be used. Our first ever school opening ceremony ten years ago is still as vivid to me as if it happened just yesterday. Through starting-up, running and replicating this unprecedented vocational school called BNVS, we have weathered together considerable hardship, while also experiencing the power and joy of education -- a power that can keep us young at heart forever.
如果說十年前,一群人是憑著一腔熱情和一份責(zé)任辦起了這樣一所沒有先例的學(xué)校。十年一路走來,更多的人加入百年的事業(yè),百年職校讓我們的人生和更多的善良人有了交集。在教學(xué)一線工作的教師團(tuán)隊(duì)和志愿者團(tuán)隊(duì)的辛勤付出,國內(nèi)外資助者的信任和支持,來自政府教育主管部門的監(jiān)督和指引,還有來自家長們的托付和幫助,因?yàn)橛羞@一切,今天百年職校在十個城市舉辦,形成了獨(dú)特的模式,具有一定的品牌影響。我特別還想講一個有意思的故事,當(dāng)我們決定在安哥拉開辦百年職校,招募教學(xué)團(tuán)隊(duì)成為重要工作。從盧安達(dá)的中信建設(shè)非洲公益辦傳來消息,他們的人事部在安哥拉本地員工團(tuán)隊(duì)發(fā)現(xiàn)了一位兩年前曾在北京百年職校做過志愿者工作的安哥拉小伙子秦比利,現(xiàn)在他就在安哥拉學(xué)校現(xiàn)場。十年來百年職校的志愿者團(tuán)隊(duì)包括教師團(tuán)隊(duì)達(dá)到數(shù)千人,可以說遍布世界各地。
Ten years ago a group of people would come together using only their sheer enthusiasm and sense of responsibility to start this unprecedented school, however, over the last ten years, more and more people have joined the BNVS cause and dream. More accurately, BNVS has introduced us to more and more noble-minded people. With the diligent work of our faculty and volunteers, the trust and support of our contributors from at home and abroad, and under the supervision and guidance of relevant government departments , as well as the faith and help of the students and their families, BNVS has been able to expand to ten cities and establish and build up its unique brand. I'd like to share an interesting story. The recruitment of faculty was one of the priority tasks when we decided to start BNVS in Angola. We heard from the CITIC Construction African Office that they had discovered a young local Angolan man working for their project named Tavares Chimbili, who had volunteered at our BNVS Beijing campus two years earlier. He is now working at our Angola BNVS campus! Over the last ten years, the volunteers and faculty members working for BNVS have reached several thousand and can now be found all around the world.

BNVS might be small in terms of scale, but its development is an embodiment of the development of China’s vocational education as well as China’s social progress over the past ten years. Over the past decade, as our society has progressed, our aspiration to have an ever greater positive impact on the vocational education innovation has grown increasingly stronger.
我常在想,教育究竟應(yīng)該對一個人發(fā)揮怎樣的作用?這些年來一批批學(xué)生畢業(yè),我們看到職業(yè)技能教育幫助他們解決了當(dāng)下的就業(yè)問題。面對變化的世界,靠哪一種技能能保證我們學(xué)生在未來不被淘汰?為此我們提出了面向未來培育人生技能。真正的目標(biāo)就是讓學(xué)生學(xué)會做人,學(xué)做普通人。而這才是企業(yè)真正歡迎百年職校畢業(yè)生的原因。這是保證學(xué)生持續(xù)成長的能力。
I often contemplate on the impact that education has on a person. Watching BNVS students graduate each year, we witness how their newly acquired professional skills help them secure employment. However, in an ever-changing world, which professional skills will guarantee that longer-term our students are not left behind in future? For this purpose, we have developed the concept of cultivating life skills. This means that we also teach our students how to live an ordinary life and have a down-to-earth attitude. This is why our graduates have been popular among the recruiting companies. Such an attitude also enables our students to constantly develop and grow.
我們深知從百年職校畢業(yè)的同學(xué)要成為世界五百強(qiáng)的CEO不是很容易,可是難道從北大清華畢業(yè)的學(xué)生就很容易嗎?我們提出學(xué)做普通人不是因?yàn)槲覀兊膶W(xué)生做不成時代菁英,而是因?yàn)樗械妮加⒊晒Φ那疤岫际窍纫龊靡粋€普通人。
We are well aware that it is not very easy for a BNVS graduate to become a CEO of a Fortune Global 500 company. But how easy is it for a Peking University or TsingHua University graduate to do the same? We come up with the concept of learning to be a down-to-earth ordinary person, not because our students can not turn out to be a member of the elite. On the contrary, for every elite to succeed they must learn how to be down-to-earth beforehand.
因?yàn)榻虒W(xué)實(shí)踐中遇到的問題,也因?yàn)樯鐣诓粩嘧兓陙砦覀円恢辈煌5挠懻摵吞剿鳎苍趯?shí)踐著怎樣辦教育。這個討論不會停止。因?yàn)榘倌曷毿逃奶剿鞑攀前倌曷毿5膬r(jià)值和存在的意義。
For the past decade, we’ve engaged in constant discussion and exploration as how best to develop education, especially given society’s on-going evolution and our efforts to improve our teaching practices. Such discussions will never cease, because the exploration of the factors underlying education learning are at the core of BNVS’ existence.
今天是百年職校第十次的開學(xué)典禮,一批新同學(xué)進(jìn)入百年職校。無論來自哪個民族,無論我們過去有怎樣的遭遇,進(jìn)入百年是你的勇敢選擇。因?yàn)榘倌曷毿2粌H僅帶給每位同學(xué)愛的溫暖,更提供艱苦學(xué)習(xí)和成長的磨練。你們只有經(jīng)受磨煉,才能像歷屆畢業(yè)的校友們一樣,成為一個身體健康、明辨是非,經(jīng)濟(jì)自立的人。
Today marks the tenth opening ceremony of BNVS and a new generation of students now enters our school. No matter which ethnic group you are from or what kind of life experience you’ve been through, enrolling in BNVS is a courageous decision on your part. Our school will offer you love and warmth, while it will also put you through the toil and sweat of learning and growing up. Only by conquering these hardships can you become Physically Healthy, Morally Conscientious, Economically Independent people like all the graduates who have preceded you.
今年讓我們更高興的是遠(yuǎn)在萬里之外非洲有了百年職校的新同學(xué)。我剛剛從安哥拉回來,那里的同學(xué)給我留下深刻的印象。他們的家庭因?yàn)閼?zhàn)爭而遭受苦難,也因此失去甚至最基礎(chǔ)的教育。但他們樂觀堅(jiān)強(qiáng),刻苦學(xué)習(xí)。有一位同學(xué)甚至用中文給我寫了信。那天我們?nèi)チ硕聊团瑢W(xué)家,他是那么陽光帥氣。他的母親拉著我的手訴說戰(zhàn)爭奪去了她六個孩子的生命,她現(xiàn)在身體有病,一個人沒有收入,還有三個小女孩。董噶耐努是家里唯一的希望。可是沒有技能,沒有工作,不知道未來在哪里?董噶耐努同學(xué)到安哥拉百年職校后,學(xué)習(xí)機(jī)械操作手專業(yè),盡管遇到很多困難,但他很努力,因?yàn)樗雷约旱呢?zé)任。很快他就要去實(shí)習(xí)了,有了這個技術(shù),他的工作完全沒有問題。讓我們大家一起為董葛耐努同學(xué),為安哥拉學(xué)校的全體同學(xué)們加油!
A more delightful piece of news is that today we have new fellow schoolmates on the African continent tens of thousands of miles away. I just got back from Angola and was deeply impressed by our students there. Their families have been tragically stricken by wars and many have lost access to even the most fundamental education. Despite all the misery they have gone through, they have remained strong minded and optimistic and have studied diligently. One of them even wrote to me a letter in Chinese. We went to the home of Tunganeno, who was a handsome and bright young man. His mother held my hands and told me that the war had taken the lives of six of her children. She suffered from illness and could not go to work. She had to raise three daughters and the whole family financially depended on Tunganeno. After enrolling in BNVS Angola, Tunganeno majored in machinery operation. He remained hard-working despite numerous obstacles, because he was well aware of his responsibility to his family. He will soon start his internship. With a mastery of machine operating skills, finding a job should no longer be a problem. Let’s all cheer for Tunganeno and our schoolmates in Angola!
今年六月份,作為唯一一所公益職業(yè)教育機(jī)構(gòu)的代表,我有幸參加了全國職業(yè)教育工作會議,聽到習(xí)總書記對職業(yè)教育的批示,當(dāng)我聽到他說,職業(yè)教育要讓每個年輕人有人生出彩的機(jī)會,我被深深地打動了。十年來,我們今天在座的各位參與百年職校公益和教育工作的人,不就是為著這樣一個目標(biāo)嗎?
This June, as the sole representative of charitable vocational education institutions, I had the honor of attending National Work Conference on Vocational Education and listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on vocational education. I was deeply moved when he said that vocational education should give every youngster an opportunity to shine. Isn’t this exactly the goal we’ve all been aspiring to as we have undertaken the charitable and educational causes of BNVS?

With the progress and development of the society, educational equity is gradually turning from a mere dream into a reality. As a charitable vocational education institution, BNVS shoulders the responsibility of cultivating talent for the future and exploring the path for vocational education reform and innovation. Through the power of education, we are keen to add more “positive energy” into our world, to stop crime and to spread goodwill.
